About Leah
I’m Leah- a junior at American University in Washington, D.C. I am a psychology major and anthropology minor originally from Newton, MA (most exciting place ever….)
First semester of this year, I am studying in Cape Town, South Africa at the University of Cape Town through a program with CIEE. Second semester, I applied for a program in Legon, Ghana at the University of Ghana, also through CIEE.
This will be my first time in Africa- In the past, I have traveled to Cannes and Paris, France, Ireland, Israel and Bolivia, so I am pretty psyched to explore a new place for a long period of time to really get to know the city, culture, language and people.
I am a blogging virgin so bear with me- but i’ll try my hardest!
Words that I will try to avoid most in this travel blog: amazing, breathtaking, beautiful

Hi Leah…So are there any adventures from your parents’ visit? Just curious….By the way, Laura wants to study anthropology and archeology. You two should exchange notes!
Love, Bruce and Cindy

I ran into your blog searching for pics of UCT and enjoyed a good read of it. I am an american who completed my M.Sc. at UCT in 1993/94 during the big election. What a great time to have stayed there. After my thesis defense was complete, I hitchhiked though several countries to the north into Nairobi. I’ve spent a total of 5 years out there total and go back every chance I get.
